Message Central! Thanks to the hard work of so many Forest View families, PTA volunteers, and staff, an electronic Reader Board was installed outside the school Friday, Jan 22. The sign will be an easy way for our community to stay informed about the fun activities and events at Forest View. Thanks to the Reader Board team (Lona Brask, Michelle Nims) for their research and follow-through. Stay tuned for fresh and flashy announcements programmed by Lisa Mills. There are still 5 months to go before school is over -- it's not too late to renew your yearly PTA membership, or become a new member. PARKING LOT SAFETY TALK: Mrs. Fuglevand will host an information exchange on parking lot safety issues prior to the next General PTA meeting on Thursday, Feb 11th from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. The general PTA meeting will follow at 7:00pm. LAST CHANCE FOR YEARBOOKS! Final yearbook orders are being accepted from February 18th—February 26th. Cost for the hardback book is $15, plus you can create a special message for your child with a " Happy Ad" for $2 more. Extra copies will not be available for purchase in June, so be sure to order yours before it is too late. BINGO NIGHT! Friday, Feb 26th from 6:00 – 8:00pm, (early release day) join us for lots of fun and great prizes. Bingo cards (limited quantity) are $2 ($3 @ the door) or 3 for $5. Watch for pre-order forms in kidmail soon. Pizza, drinks, snacks, popcorn will be available. SPEAK UP! It's time to recognize outstanding volunteers and/or educators. All nominees will be considered by the committee, regardless of the number of nominations any individual receives. Please submit your nominations by February 25th. CHECK MATE FOR FUN: A registration form was sent home in kidmail on Tuesday to join the Chess Club. Chess Star Co. staff (instructors/assistants) will be teaching the club and the fee is $54. Contact

RECYCLING SUCCESS! Over 4,100 drink pouches will be repurposed From Forest View families through Terracycle, and over 11,000 caps have been sent to the Aveda cap recycling program. Thanks to Stacey Janes and Melani Pedroza for their hard work! Keep sending in those drink pouches and caps – together we can make a difference! HAITI RELIEF: Thank you to everyone who donated money at the dance Friday night. A total of $678 was collected and will go to International Medical Corps. PTA was pleased to be able to contribute $250 of that amount. Thank you to Lisa Mills for initiating this effort and for her work in collecting over 300 pairs of shoes to send to Haiti. THE WATCH DOG PROGRAM IS GEARING UP for 2010 and we need more Dads Of Great Students (or guardians, grandfathers, etc.)!
